Terms of Use
Effective Date: August 14, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the FishReel mobile application ("FishReel," "the App," "we," "us," or "our"), operated by Jeff Schoellerman. By creating an account or otherwise using FishReel, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
FishReel is not directed at, and may not be used by, anyone under the age of 13. If you are between 13 and the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use FishReel with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.
3. User Content
FishReel lets you post photos, videos, links, captions, and comments ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, but by posting it you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute it solely for the purpose of operating and providing the App (for example, showing your posts in the feed to other users, or generating a link preview when a post is shared outside the App). You are solely responsible for the User Content you post and for having the rights necessary to post it.
4. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to use FishReel to post, upload, transmit, or link to content that:
- Is illegal, or that promotes or facilitates illegal activity;
- Exploits, endangers, or sexualizes minors in any way, including as described in Section 5 below;
- Is obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit;
- Harasses, threatens, bullies, or incites violence against any person or group;
- Infringes another person's intellectual property, privacy, or other legal rights;
- Contains malware or is intended to disrupt or damage the App or other users' devices; or
- Impersonates another person or misrepresents your affiliation with any person or entity.
5. Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) — Zero Tolerance Policy
FishReel has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material and child sexual exploitation.
We do not allow any content that depicts, promotes, glorifies, or facilitates the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material (CSAM) as defined under 18 U.S.C. § 2256 and applicable international law. This applies to real, computer-generated, and drawn/animated depictions alike.
This policy applies to every part of FishReel, including profile photos, posts, captions, comments, shared links, and direct messages (if and when such a feature exists in the App).
We will:
- Immediately remove any content that violates this policy upon discovery or upon receiving a valid report;
- Immediately and permanently terminate the account of any user found to have posted, shared, or solicited such content, without prior notice to that user;
- Preserve relevant evidence as required by law; and
- Report violations to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via its CyberTipline, and to law enforcement, as required under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A and other applicable law.
We do not notify a user in advance of removing their content or account for a suspected CSAM violation, and we cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations into such conduct.
6. How to Report a Violation
Report abuse, including CSAM, to: fishreelapp@gmail.com
If you encounter content on FishReel that you believe is CSAM, exploits a minor, or otherwise violates these Terms, please report it right away. Do not download, save, forward, or otherwise redistribute the content — simply report it to us.
When you send a report, please include as much of the following as you can:
- A description of the content and why you believe it violates this policy;
- The username, post link, or other identifying detail for the content or account involved;
- A screenshot, if you have one and it is safe/appropriate to share; and
- Your contact information, in case we need to follow up (reports may also be submitted anonymously).
We review reports promptly and prioritize reports involving child safety above all else. If a child is in immediate danger, please also contact local law enforcement or, in the United States, the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
7. Enforcement and Termination
We may remove any User Content and suspend or terminate any account, at any time and without prior notice, if we believe in good faith that it violates these Terms, violates the law, or creates risk or legal exposure for us or other users. Violations involving CSAM or child exploitation result in immediate, permanent termination and are reported as described in Section 5.
8. Intellectual Property
The FishReel name, logo, and app design are owned by Jeff Schoellerman. Other than the license you grant us in Section 3, these Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or branding.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
FishReel is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not pre-screen User Content and are not responsible for content posted by users, though we will act on reports as described above. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use of FishReel after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
12. Contact Us
